This morning in my First year seminar we watched a movie called White Like Me. This Movie describes what it is like to be white person in society. In the movie he conducted interviews asking people what it meant to them to be white. When whites where asked this they where dumb-founded and couldn’t one up with an answer. This struck me as odd, thinking what its like to be white. Isn’t everyone in this society supposed to be treated equally. Being brought up in a majority white community I was never able to see the different aspects of life. This meant that I only knew one way of living and that’s a privileged one. This movie was a real eye opener for me to see the way that other races are struggling in todays society.
