The Supreme Court is the highest court of the nation. All of the cases handled by the Supreme Court are all on topics of controversy within the U.S. constitution. The Supreme Court's job is to provide the laws that make sure every person in this wonderful country has equal justice. The Supreme Court is made up of 5-10 people, 5 people being the low and 10 people being the high as judges. Right now, there is one Chief Justice and 7 other justices that make up the Supreme Court. These justices have the ability to pick and choose their cases. This means that no ordinary case can make it into the supreme courts, each case has to set a precedent or overturn a precedent. The Supreme Court is best known for their judicial review. Judicial review is when the Supreme Court can call out the legislative and executive branches in violation of the constitution.
